SAFEGUARDING IS A PRIORITY HERE

We are committed to our church being a safe place for all ages and consider that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. As we interact with one another and the wider community we serve, we want to prevent harm or abuse and help people find appropriate support where needed. Our staff and volunteers are trained and committed to working together to build an environment and culture that is safe. Appropriate checks with the Disclosure and Barring Service are made wherever appropriate. Every member of the WV Kids’ and Youth teams has an enhanced disclosure check.

We follow statutory guidance on good working practice and have policies and procedures to safeguard children and young people and adults at risk. You can find them on our policies page ; do take a look! There is clear advice on what to do if you are experiencing harm or are concerned about someone else.  If you don’t feel at peace about a situation or conversation, please act on it and raise your concern with our Safeguarding Lead, Laura, or one of our Safeguarding Team who you can see below. Our Safeguarding Team
